I am assuming you mean biscuits as in the breakfast bread food and not cookies.... I prefer mine with sausage, bacon, or gravy... or grape jelly.

I make a mean biscuits and gravy at my family's ski cabin. They key is making the gravy from scratch and baking biscuits at 7000 feet - the thin air makes them rise much more than at sea level.

you always make the gravy from scratch with biscuits and gravy. there's no other way to do it.

You're preachin' to the choir - but I've seen white gravy packets at the store. I wouldn't be caught dead putting it on my biscuits.

Up in Truckee, my son tried grilled cornbread and country gravy - that was a close second, if not a tie to the old standby.

My father would love that... he is not a biscuit eater, but loves cornbread.

I like cornbread, but it always seems a little dry. Pan-fried with a crispy glaze on the bottom, it was like a whole new dish.

I've tried biscuits and gravy (it's not a big thing where I am) but I never really liked it much.

I have seen that stuff before, and I saw it at a restraunt. One time it was doing breckfast, and I get the message "now do not eat all that" and I look at the stuff, and find out that it /really/ is someones -special- recipie. Ok, so, supposed to get someone else to eat it, and that is good for you in the morning, not eat it up in the big gulp.
Go on a diet, don't order biskits and gravy at the pancake house with important people. I thought the dog ate your homework, but there it is, all the plans on a plate.
so, it is white fat on unleaving bread

    nope.

it's flour gravy made with sausage fat for flavoring.
    it's not unleavened bread, also.

Yeah, there's probably better ones out there. I've never really liked bread-heavy foods either though, so that's probably part of it. Similarly, I also like pizza with thin crust (I don't like a thick pizza crust).

Lots of black pepper, some crushed red peppers, and browned onions. An
entire tube of pork sausage. Half and half and a pinch of flour. Couldn't
be much easier to do it right.

i've never heard of it being done with onions, though.

Powdered gravy mix and frozen biscuits. Yep, that's pretty crappy!

This is the only way to eat biscuits and gravy. I like using the sausage grease to make my scratch gravy. Oh man, now I want some... lol!

what i do is cook the sausage and then dust it with flour. i make sure the flour is cooked or it gets real doughy. then i add milk and sprinkle a lot of pepper. buttermilk biscuits in a can are good enough for me. the kind you bake in the oven.

Around these parts, I think you can't get your HS diploma without knowing how to make homemade gravy. It's basic life skills!
