I have a business and I am totally killing it by getting
deals from suppliers that need to get rid of stock and can
only sell it at a heavy discount, but only because I have
other two jobs, which allows me to take risks.
My only job *is* my biz, and I am specifically avoiding the
discounted product that distributors are trying to push. I
stick to the "popular sellers" and the titles that garnish the
greatest media converage; those are usually the best bets.
Also, I can return some of my product as overstock after a
minimum of 90 days.
I noticed people were buying much less by the begining of
the year. Right now, they are buying about as much as
usual, but I have noticed most people is buying on credit.
One day, my credit card processing machine decided to take
anunrequested vacation and I had to ask people to ask
either in cash or in Bizum (ie. instantaneous Spanish bank
transfer done from the smartphone).
DB vs CC is about 2:1 here. People love the CC cuz they boast
about the points that they earn. But guess who pays for those
points? - the retailer. :( However, I am thankful for DB
users since the per transaction fee for DB is much less than
for CC.
Most people didn't have cash on them, and most didn't have
enough money in the bank account to send me a Bizum
transfer for items as cheap as 20 bucks. "Wish I could pay
with Credit Card".
Same thing in my area, fewer people carry cash - and it is
mostly younger people. My DB/CC machine can continue to
operate for an hour or two during a power outtage.. and DB/CC
users are impressed by that.
