Well, Dairy Festival was cool. Field Day's coming up not this weekend, but next. They're wanting me to get my General license then, but I'm failing miserably. I'm expecting to be a little more stressed out on field day. The Dairy Festival was awesome, a little nerve racking calling CQ when nobody was on, or worse, when people would come close to our channel (off frequency) they said to continously call CW and give very little chance for someone to answer to let the people know we wasn't leaving our frequency and they needed to leave their frequency. Then, there was spells, where when someone answered, as soon as I got through talking, before calling CQ, someone was requesting us to talk to them and it was like just 3-4 people just waiting to make contact with us! Anyone that contacted us can get a "Cow Card" QSO card. I'm told if you go to QRZ.COM and search for W5WQ you'll get info on how to get it. I haven't been able to find the picture myself, I seen it on George's Blackberry, a picture of a cow standing up on the radio.... Looked cool and all. Loved getting to talk to people all over the USA! Some folks said "hey, we was just scanning the frequencies and heard you guys on this frequency and decided to make contact with you" I'm told the field day will just be make contact, get the info, write it down, move on to the next person, much like a contest... Ugh, a little more stressful... BTW, I was working the 40 meter radio at the dairy festival. Turns out I won't be getting the 10 meter right now... Will look probably next month or so for another one...
