Nope, still chuggin' along at 300 baud (HF), then there's 1200/2400/9600 baud for VHF/UHF depending on what you're doing. There are some people working on new devices, but overall, nothing much has changed within the past 10 years except for DSTAR. But even that is only 2400 baud.

If your into 900mhz then this is a cool data transfer system for under 100 bucks per unit.

have an old Siltronix 1011-C.. However since I don't have a Ham licences I don't use it, even though it IS tuned to 11m. It just sits around collecting dust.

I don't post about it or anything involving HAM radios, simply because Angus or Jason MAY have a shit-fit if I post something not knowing what I am talking about in an attempt to learn something. There is even an old Tempo-1 laying around here somewhere..
