From John Guillory@VERT/MAINLINE to All on Sun Jul 11 21:49:46 2010
O.k. Can someone help me here.... Here's a clipping of my log files as soon as I put my web server up they fill up and if I don't shut it down immediately it bogs it down to the point it either crashes Sync or bogs the system down to the point I can't stop the server any more....

I went through the log file and pretty much added every IP address to the IP.can and domain name to the domain.can, etc. and now I've got it throttling to about 25% load (a lot better!) I've also had to restrict the clients to 4 on the web. The question I'm having is why it shows every connection is trying to connect to domain names I don't own or point to my computer. It's as if Synchronet is being a proxy server for everyone. Question is how do I turn it off if it is turned on?

Synchronet doesn't proxy anything, so that's not it. It's possible that you just so happen to have an IP address that was previously used by a popular web-site (?). If you have a dynamic IP address, try releasing your DHCP lease, wait a while, and then get a new lease (and new IP address). And of course, this sub would be the wrong place to ask for help on Synchronet and HTTP/TCP/IP.

No, though I see it shows it as the ham radio now, I could swear it said internet at the bottom when I posted it.... Either way, I think i may have rectified the problem at least temporarly like... I blocked all domain names and IP addresses that where hammering my system and it managed to slack off....
