  • Synchronet BBS List is Inaccurate.

    Hello.

    I have noticed my BBS is not accurate on the main Snchronet BBS List. How do I get it to update with the most current information?

    Any help will be appracited.

    If you run the Synchronet BBS List external program (script) on your BBS (external program menu), it should prompt you to add your system's details automatically.

    1-2 days.

    First, if your BBS entry was created on your BBS, then the entry needs to be exported to the "SYNCDATA" echo on DOVE-Net or FidoNet. This happens normally, automatically via the stock SBL2SMB timed event. The sysop can read this sub-board (e.g. using smbutil if you have to) to confirm your BBS entry has been exported successfully.

    Next, that SYNCDATA message has to go out on the message network (i.e. uploaded to VERT in a REP packet, typically).

    Next, that message will be imported into Vertrauen's copy of the database (sbbslist.json) within 24 hours via the SMB2SBL timed event which runs 4 times a day on Vertrauen. You can login to Vertrauen and run the Synchronet BBS List to check and see if your entry has been imported. Or you can download http://synchro.net/Synchronet/sbbslist.json and check manually.

    Next, at midnight PDT, the Vertrauen sbbslist.json will be verified and exported to HTML (sbbslist.html) and published on the synchro.net web-site.

    from the same user/BBS that originally created the entry. Also, by
    default, SBBS only exports any updates you make every 7 days. This can
    be adjusted in /sbbs/ctrl/modopts.ini, with the 'export_freq = ' setting
    in the '[sbbslist]' stanza.
