Is Tradewars 2020 a new sequel to TradeWars 2002? Or did you mean 2002?

TradeWars 2002 does run in Linux with dosemu2, if you want to go that route.

Assuming you meant TW 2002, BBSLink has it.

Yeah, I meant 2002 and only realized it after I saved.

TradeWars 2002 does run in Linux with dosemu2, if you want to go that route.

That was going to be my second option. The reason I was hoping for a remote place was that it would probably have more people. I don't play the game myself, but from what I understand it would be better when there are more active players :).

There used to be one that you went into a door and it went to a BBS that connected other doors. I can't remember the name, but I'll try to find it.
Also there is a network called justanet, that does a lot of interbbs stuff.

Dang, seems like it's down through them. Probably been a while, too, because apparently I had most of their games set up but that one.

Yep, confirmed that it's down from here too. I don't play it, but if
you search 'bbslink.net' and go to the website, there's a link there to "contact" the operator. He's been quite responsive to emails from me in
    the past.

That is one of the nets run by Gert Kofoed Andersen. I used to be part
of them, but his system kept refusing packets from my setup (even though
I could get packets from his system), and he rarely responded...so I disconnected from his system. Gert basically takes over "dying message networks".

that pretty much sums up my experience with him. when his system started doing that his only response was to join another one of his nets.

Is Tradewars networked, or stand alone on each BBS? I restarted my old BBS from the mid to late 90's and I am thinking of doing more across networks this time around. From Trapper at the TrapDoor BBS.

From what I understand, it's stand-alone on each BBS... Not much of a gamer here, so I don't play it myself.

Thanks anyway. It never hurts to ask. I want to network with more boards across the country, not just the games but the message boards as well. This is just a hobby so things go really slow. Being new, I havent even personalise the menus yet. I am having trouble with the website and I have a bunch of errors that need attention. Thanks for responding.

Just take it a day at a time it's a hobby for all of us I would say. Some of us go way back when it comes to being Sysops and things are slow compared to the 80s and 90s. It also takes time to understand how your bbs software works and what all you can do with it. I run all the stock doors with synchronet and 46 others that are registerd. I run windows 7 but i am able to run old dos door using NTVDMx64 by Leecher1337. There are a great number of other bbs sysops that are great to work with and they give good support here on Dovenet on the synchronet boards. My BBS has tons of support files for synchronet and mods also. I also have a massive collection of cracks , serials warez for bbs oftware and utils and doors. stop by you may find a lot you can use...
