I post ANSI ads on a weekly basis to all my connected nets, from both my Synchronet board and Mystic board. Lately I've been finding the ads I auto-post to DOVE-Net Advertisements do not always show up on other boards. For example, the ad from my Mystic board isn't seen on my Sync board and vice versa. I can see from the logs on each system that the messages were exported to the rep packet, so I'm a little puzzled.

I assumed it might be some duplicate-filtering logic keeping them from being distributed through the network, so I started appending a datestamp to the bottom of the ad immediately before posting, as I've seen some others do, but the ad posted today from dawnCHAOTIC still doesn't seem to be showing up anywhere.

What might I be doing wrong?

I looked through my logs but haven't found any REP file uploads from the DCHAOTIC account on Vertrauen over the past 24 hours. Are you sure you're actually uploading the REP packets?

i had the same problem with datastream. it started happening last summer, i think. there is some dupe checking on vert for the ads section. so you should
add some extra text to the msg so it can get through. I do the date.

I think in the ads section dupe checking should be toggled off.

I looked through my logs but haven't found any REP file uploads from the DCHAOTIC account on Vertrauen over the past 24 hours. Are you sure you're actually uploading the REP packets?

I see an ad posted today, dated the 21st.

Thanks! Not sure what I did differently, unfortunately. I think it might be a Mystic problem or a config issue on my end, since the qwkpoll log files never said they exported any messages to the rep packet until I tried running the steps manually from the command prompt, and it happened to work.

Just curious, did you happen to see my "seasons greetings" ad from ConChaos either yesterday or the day before? I'm not certain whether it made it out either.

Well that's sort of what people do in bbs ad msg subs.

I can understand that doing it every day is pretty annoying and people shouldn't do THAT, but once a week or once a month is usually tollerated.

I can understand that doing it every day is pretty annoying and people shouldn't do THAT, but once a week or once a month is usually tollerated.
