I'm in the process of writing a new weather door that displays live radar in 100% ANSI. I already have a few beta testers and I'm looking for another that would have a really unique setup to test it on. Is there anyone here that has a setup they think is pretty unique? About the only real requirement of the door is that it be ran under a bbs that can produce a door32.sys file. I can produce a build for just about any platform short of DOS 16bit. The door gathers it's data from free online APIs in real time and displays current conditions, 7 day forecasts and does graphing, plus the animated radar and infrared images.

P.S. If the radar says it doesn't detect any blips on the radar, then search another location that has precip in progress. You can search for weather anywhere on the planet.

Actually they are very useful if you know what you're looking at and have ever used a radar app before.

Actually I took your remarks to heart and created a Radar Legend at the top of the radar screen that denotes what each of the shaded colors mean on the radar animation. The colors are standard weather data colors, light green is light rain, dark green is heavy rain etc.

I wonder if there's a way, with Synchronet, to have it display the graphics to both ANSI users as well as PETSCII.

yeah i took a meteorology course in school. i know what i'm looking at.
I'm just talking about the visual aspect of it.
i just think it would look better with a map under it.

It's there now if you want to check it out please. There is a Legend on both the radar and infrared cloud cover animations. I'm working on placing other cities surrounding the current location on the map in a dark shade of gray for reference. A little harder than it sounds...

Thank you NerdTower. I just made another update that adds base maps to the radar so it shows the surrounding cities and counties. Still 100% ANSI graphics! ;)
