• Telnet gateway module

    From Brian Rogers@VERT to All on Thu May 6 14:02:54 2021
    Greetings;

    I'm trying to configure a telnet gateway to my amateur radio packet switch
    on port 3694 which is on the same box. While it works sorta... there's 2 issues I can't seem to figure out and can't find the info on the wiki.

    1 - no local echo by default
    2 - user has to hit enter twice to get their command to execute

    I tried to set it up using Options = in sbbsdefs.js but no luck there, and
    the wiki site is offline atm. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    You could try using mudgate.js or unixgate.js or come up with your own combination of TG_* mode flags to pass on the telgate.js command-line.

    I will have to muck around with it more. I tried unixgate and telgate. Just tried mudgate... all 3 return the same results. I'll let you know if I can
    find a combination that works.

    I have it working. What was needed in the module was already there. I'm using SyncTERM/Linux and in the program settings I have to change the Video Output Mode to Curses. I had it set to ANSI. I tested "autodetect" and that seems to work fine too... all this at least with the mudgate module.

    My node software does offer ANSI color but it's not autodetect since
    most TNC softwares are just straight ascii. Those using a (ba)sh shell
    may request my color schema.

    Oh, in the menu I'm using "console" as the intercept i/o. Perhaps this
    may help others in the future? Can't hurt.
