    ... all this news coverage; and I'm right there with the world - I hate that 5 humans are down below without the ability to... get out. But I think the media is just selling this catastrophe to the world;

These people are never coming home, and most likely have already met their maker. Everyone is talking about the oxygen - at very best, they could have oxygen until Thursday AM @ 2:00 EST. But these idiots aren't talking about the myriad of other issues... at the depth you need CO/2 cartridges to purge the outside CO/2 coming in - this is the reason many other explorers wouldn't get in the Titan submarine... the owner took many shortcuts, this being one of them.

Food, water, hypothermia... I hate the fact that these 5 have probably already passed, day(s) before it became national news. Godspeed.

I can't, for the life of me, understand why BILLIONAIRES didn't perform the due diligence to find out these facts about their host. I just don't get it... I'm middle class at best, and love to push the envelope - but I go into risky endeavors when I know all the risks AND all the mitigation that is, or is not, being performed.

I think these people have already met their fate - and I am disgusted at how the media creates the hope that isn't therer... its disgusting.

I saw a timer, tonight on the news... 10:00:30 hours left; they are so stupid.

That is what media does these days, Paulie. They're scalping for sensation.
And they have plenty of opportunities to do so.

That's why I don't watch TV these days. I don't have it even connected to my telly, no antenna, no dish, no cable.

When I seek for news I try my trusted newspaper that come on paper and in digital form.. but trusted means => trying to achieve balanced opinions in the right time, rather than speeding up for adrenaline chomping news.

And yeah. the host of this experiment should be charged for unintentional murder at least.

    Sacred words,

and I share the disgust feelings around this and many others 'facts' the mediatic Cyrcus is selling every second of every minute of every day. It seems people have lost something much deep and important, nowadays: own thought. I'm in pain for the victims, this is probably one of the worst death scenarios, making me instantly claustrophobic and anxious, while trying to figure it. I'm not that much deep into this happening, I'll read more this evening when I'll be out of work.

By now you probably know that they didn't make it. It is believed the ship imploded several days ago. I agree about the media. Reminds me of the

I guess being a billionaire doesn't make you smart.

Nope, it doesn't.. In most of the cases it makes you a lazy ass who delegates everything that ain't pleasure.

Hunger is what makes people smarter, as they constantly need to figure out how to sort the problem on a daily basis.

But it doesn't mean they are eloquent about it... we're all wild animals at the end. We think we're smarter than dolphins for exactly the same reason dolphins think the same.

I think these people have already met their fate - and I am disgusted at how

Society has got us used to the idea that everything is safe because somebody else has taken responsibility for it.

If you get on a car, you have the notion that the car is safe because the car maker has taken responsibility for it, and you think if it wasn't safe they would not allow them to make it. Same with buildings, planes, industrial machines.

Past some point you start to think spelunking in certain cave which is open to visitors has to be safe, because it it wasn't, they would have closed it to the public already.

Then the John Erwards incident happens and people is surprised.

We have become insensitized to danger because we think we can outsource identifying danger to third parties. That works often but not always.

That makes me think of the roads here in Eastern Kentucky. Many are
substandard in width so when there's an accident involving 2 cars the
state police usually write it as "dual fault" because neither could
have actually been on their side - the road's too narrow. Now is that
    not absolutely ridiculous? Yep... :)

I can atest to the many roads in Kentucky (especially in Eastern KY) being quite narrow. I was not aware that the state troopers would write it up
    that way, though!

There is a road off of US 460/KY 80 somewhere between Pikeville and Elkhorn City that is not really too crooked, but it is not much more than one lane
for two-way traffic, and the people who live on it have such shallow yards
that some of their fences run right up against the road. I want to say it
is Powell Creek Road. Fun times. :)
