What I liked best about the show were the sets and ships. The
interiors of MA were gorgeous (I wish my house looked that way) and the Eagles actually looked functional...mostly; ever notice that the rear engines never fired?
The Eagle was a great design. Loved how they modified it into the Hawk,
the swift and others. The guys who designed ships for that show were on
a breakneck schedule, this was long before multi-month hiatuses.
A moonbase alpha house would be kick-ass. I want a computer that can
run my entire house and only provide output in an echoey woman's voice,
a projection screen or thermal receipt printers.
The show UFO, the precursor and possible prequel to Space:1999 had a
multi-national moonbase with 70s furniture, female workers in
miniskirts with purple wigs, launch chute slides for pilots to get
into interceptor spaceships, and a kitchen with slot ovens marked

Very 70s, very cool. I think it was supposed to take place in 1990?
