    I've noticed lately that people are starting to use SBBS for drug advertising. That is very sad for the BBS world.

    its because someone likely let a spam bot accidently post in dovenet.

    I'm thinking it may not be a bad idea to add a flag to a user that signs up via the web interface, and disallow posting by default for users with that flag in n ew synchronet installs.

    Or make it where if you want a nntp account you have to sign in via the
    telnet side to get access to the nntp server.

    These are from the alt.bbs.syncrhonet newsgroup. Unfortunately, when you gate to usenet, you're going to get this crap come through.

    Could they be validated messages, I know WWIV has a feature such as Net Validation. The gate host could dump nntp posted messages from alt.bbs.synchronet that are not relevant.
