Would be cool to support this in SyncTERM (opening default protocol
    handler for the OS).

Would be very cool to add File Section support to the HTTP service
object model in order to support this with the terminal in order to
click through to an http/ftp download.

Enigma.5 has something like that... in the file section, you can recieve an http link to download your batch queue... works pretty nice, and that software is also in JavaScript...

Thanks. Created a ticket there... would still need/want to add this into
    the files section.

Aside: I know it's been a while, any re-thinking on adding file section support to the web service api?

If you're referring to the Sync-JS object model, adding a file base class (similar to MsgBase) is still in the plans. Or maybe you meant something else by "web service api". <shrug>
