    Just the webserver or all bbs services? Occasionally I have the
    webserver lock up but everything else is still going ok. I will check
    out my log for some of those things.

    I have not seen it happen again. As it locks up, rather than seg faulting, will gdb actually have anything to backtrace?

    webserver lock up but everything else is still going ok. I will check
    out my log for some of those things.

    Everything. That was the last entry until I found it about twelve hours
    later. No Binkit inbounds or outbounds, no QWK network activity, no
    inbound email activity, or anything else after that.

    The only way I could get it to "do anything" was by issuing a SIGKILL.

    Yes. Ideally, you would also identify which thread(s) were blocked possibly by using top.
