After updateding to the latest from git again the problem of getting disconnected after reading the first new message returned. I am using DDMsgReader and there is nothing in the screen log or error logs to help me figure out what is going on. I restored from the backup and it fixes the problem. So basicly all I know is something in the latest from git is causing the problem but not sure what since Im not getting any thing in the logs to help.

What logs are you looking at? The log messages of interest would be from the terminal server (so prefixed with "term" when going to the system logger), beginnnig with "Telnet connection accepted from: <your ip address>" and ending with whatever the last message is logged before you're disconnected.

Are you running sbbs daemonized? If yes, then maybe this will help: http://wiki.synchro.net/monitor:syslog

Is the process terminating (crashing) or are you just simply being disconnected?

Only thing I can add to help trace the problem is that with 3.18c for Linux compiled Dec 30th 2020 I dont have the problem. If I compile the source now I do. So its apparently something that changed between Dec 30th and now.

We still don't have a clear definition of the problem. If you're just being disconnected, then there will be at least one log message (e.g. in your syslog output of the terminal server) stating why. If sbbs is crashing, then that should be clarified. I don't doubt there's a problem but I don't run a Nightfox's message reader here, so I'm not seeing the issue. If I had a better description of the problem, I likely could root-caue and fix it much quicker.

The commit made about 20 minutes ago fixes this issue for me. https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/commit/9314c48c862d5767842cba08feb3d8045 a7d6242

I'm using the latest from GIT and have no issues like you're reporting. Is there anything in /sbbs/data/error.log that might indicate an issue? Could it be memory related? Did you increase the JavaScriptMaxBytes in sbbs.ini ? I
    have mine at 12MB.

I just did a brand new install with Linux Mint Beta, pulled down all the new code and it works fine. Maybe a library issue?
