    Rob,

For some reason, I can not get the nightly maintenance batchfile
to run...or to have a batchfile run to "busy out the BBS" so the
maintenance can run separately. Whenever I try to enter "Requires
Exclusive Execution, it NEVER saves it, always reverting to NO.

For an event to run exclusively, it must have a specific node number to "run as". What do you have the "Execution Node" set to? If it's set to "any", then it cannot be an exclusive event.

    I
am wanting to busy out the BBS so the maintenance will run. The
MSGMAINT utility runs at 5am, but I need to run the doorgame
maintenance just after midnight local time.

Not sure what "busy out the BBS" means.

he wants the BBS to go offline while maintenance then back online.

I'm not sure why he would need to down all nodes for an event? I set one node aside to run my events, it's not like the old days when we had a lot of people logging onto our BBS's.

I did that too when I ran my bbs before. One node is enough for maintenance.

I suppose that *could* be what he wants, but I was asking for *his* clarification. Synchronet never has (even back in the dial-up modem days) made a node (or phone line) "busy" while an exclusive event was being executed. Instead, a message explaining that the node is not available is displayed (instead of login prompt) to the user and the session is disconnected.
