Anyone interested? I enjoyed the books much more than the movies, would be interested to see how they got there.
The prequel is apparently set near the first quell, 74 years before the current series. Not sure how technical a writer the author is, whether she'd delve into the ecological change they hint about.
... What's up that way?

Not really much interest here. I am a bit tired of Young
Adult tailored dystopias already. They have overdone them
so much in such a short span that I am already burnt from
them :-)
I would be more interested in learning how their govermnent
managed to pull off the Hunger Games society. I like the
idea of dividing up the population into decompartmentalised
districts to prevent wide-spread revolution. It's very
clever as dictatorships have to cull their populations as
they are terrified of grassroots movements overthrowing
them.

I don't think the prequel goes back that far. A brief venture
at the fandom wiki for Hunger Games didn't turn up anything for
me either. All we know is that the author's world of Panem
suffered some kind of environmental crisis and the remaining
nation/lands were divided into regions related to the resources
they provided - or something like that. Region 13 was a
nuclear one.
