When I suggested you check the logs, it was for the vert.qwk.*.bad files reasoning. Those would definitely be in your logs, unless they were deleted.

I did delete all the vert.qwk.*.bad files to see if it would create new qwk files.
In future, if you delete those they won't get reprocessed and won't cause
new packets to get created. You will want to follow Digital Man's advice
on how to try to reprocess the "bad" qwk files.
