• BBS Event Glitches

From Daryl Stout@VERT/TBOLT to All on Thu Dec 30 20:33:00 2021
I had posted a message to digital man about this, and the BBS
said I had a reply from him in the posted message area. But, when
I went to look for the message, I couldn't find it.

Anyway, I've run into glitches with 2 BBS events.

    1) Nightly Maintenance. The BBS does its own internal events, but
I had to put the Nightly Maintenance of the doors and file areas
into a separate batchfile, as it wouldn't run inside the BBS under
Timed Events, just after midnight local time. To keep the door and
file databases from getting corrupted, the BBS has to be "busied out"
during that time. But when I try to run the batchfile for it, it
gives an error 255, and quits. So, I have to manually "down the nodes"
until everything is done, and then "unbusy the nodes". I'm not fond of
having to be up just before and just after midnight to do this.

    2) Message Maintenance. This normally runs at 5am local time. If the
BBS doesn't have to go offline for overnight thunderstorm activity
(as it will Friday night into Saturday this week), this utility runs
when it should, and busies the BBS out for the event. But, if the BBS
had to be down due to weather or power issues during the overnight
hours, anyone trying to login after I bring the BBS back up is then disconnected...and that remains the case, until that utility can run.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong over here??

    Daryl

... Before drawing boards, where did they go back to??

    Rob,

This is the wrong message area for Synchronet support questions.

Sorry about that...I couldn't remember what area I posted it in
originally. With a trip to the Emergency Room Wednesday morning, and
dodging severe thunderstorms, it has been a hectic week.

I saw it, and that did the trick...thanks.
