I am trying to make custom menus for my various external programs/games/doors sections and in reviewing "External Programs Menu" on the wiki page I created an ANSI .msg file and .ans file. I created and saved these files in c:\sbbs\text\menu and with the file name of "xtrnmenu_games.msg" & "xtrnmenu_games.ans" for my GAMES external program section. Yet Synchronet still shows the default menu.
* I made the .ans version in the event the .MSG does not disply ANSI.
Do I need to edit my global settings by adding the STRNMENU section to the modopts.ini for these custom menu files to work?
If I do this mod will it carry over to future updated versions on Synchronet or do I have to edit this modopts.ini file each time Synchronet is updated?
Thanks!

When you update Synchronet BBS, it comes with default options and
will be overwritten.
