• Netmail file attaches

From AKAcastor@21:1/162 to All on Fri Apr 5 13:56:20 2024
Hi everyone, I have questions about sending netmail with files attached (it's been so long!).

Are netmails with attached files routable? Or does binkd need to be configured to directly contact any system you want to send a file attachment to?

It's been decades since I setup BinkleyTerm for this kind of thing, and I am still a binkd newbie. Plus my memory is a bit foggy about what is "normal" for netmail file attaches.

Speaking as someone who is the "mass dumping ground" for every freakin' thing unroutable.... yes, you can route Netmails with file attachments but nothing will work unless all the systems in the path are configured to allow it.

If its really that important, send directly.

No, I could NEVER see that all the crap gets routed to you because people can't setup their programs right. Nah, doesn't happen. ha!

    Howdy,

Are netmails with attached files routable? Or does binkd need to be configured to directly contact any system you want to send a file attachment to?

I think it is hit and miss.

I know I havent tested routable attachments with crlghouz. Its something that I would want to implement, but havent got around to it.

If you do want to send files to a node via netmail, its best to enable direct if that's available (if your mailer understands to send it directly)...

TheDraw, now there's a classic I can get into! For sure I'll put it on my list to take a look, thanks.

One of my fav's. Not sure how you could do matrix ansi's back in the day without it.

I'm sure there is a way without the draw and ansi animations now?
