From what I can tell, people are still into buying/building gaming PCs... or, at least, there are still companies out there trying to sell them on doing so.

That's gonna be tougher going further. With the increase of AI production and the closure of Crucial, prices and availability of chips are will be going in opposite directions and not in a good way.
