How would I do on screen graphics for my videos? I am thinking of
creating a bi-weekly video podcast since I work full time and i dont
have time to do this weekly. Anyone know of any good tools?
That depends on what type of "graphics" you are shooting for. If you are simply looking to create title screens or text that show on a video (like a watermark, for example), you can create the screens using a tool like The
GIMP and then place them into your video.
There are plenty of how-to videos and sites out there that helped me figure
it out.
For creating the actual videos, I use Shotcut or Openshot. Both have
effects you can use, although I only usually use the video fade in/out,
audio fade in/out, and volume gain. Shotcut seems to be more forgiving of slighly older hardware. If I want to save the video in 1080p, I use Shotcut
as on my hardware Openshot only allows a max of 720p. Any higher and the
saved video comes out jumpy and garbled.
I am running these utilities on a linux box, so you mileage may vary on
other oses. There are a lot of videos out there that helped me with these
two utilities also.
