    And food! I found a good crock-pot recipe for Corned Beef, so I can let
    it simmer for 10 hours. I can't decide between colcannon or roasted
    Yukon gold potatoes, laziness may have me lean to the latter.

    Soda bread obtained from a local bakery, Guinness is slightly chilled,
    and I have a bottle of Bushmills here somewhere.

    Ruining the whole affect is a gosh-darn American apple pie. Oh, well.

    For St. Pats my band was the house band for the night playing a whole bunch of Irish tunes down at the local bar. We had the full set up with a banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and then the usual horns, bass (me), drums, guitar. It was a great night!

    Not much of a recipe - maybe 10 minutes of prep!

    3 lb Corned beef brisket w/ seasoning mix.
    half a yellow onion, 3-4 carrots
    sear the vegetables, until the onions start to go clear. Add salt/pepper.
    Add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste to the veg, mix thoroughly.
    Place the veg in the bottom of the pan, corned beef on top.
    Add water and sauce packet to just cover the brisket.
    Cook for 8-10 hours on low. 90 minutes before completion, place 1 cabbage head, sliced into wedges, on top of the brisket and continue to cook.

    I might have wanted to sear the brisket first.
