  • Bandcamp Friday

    As some of you people might know, Bandcamp started, since 2020, an event where the platform, every first Friday of the month, wavers off his fee to allow artists to get paid in full (except the payment processor fee).

    So, every Friday, some people organize their wishlists to buy music (both in digital or physical format) during that day to support their favourite artists better.

    This Friday I bought a couple of lounge/chillout albums aswell as some ambient/drone albums, which I heard some of it's songs from Soma.FM:

    Spiral System - In Your Dreams
    Rena Jones - Echoes
    Louigi Verona - Origins
    synktrotron - DRONE
    Parallelism - Ice Ghosts

    I used to buy lots of CDs back then but now I'm preferring the digital format as I find it easier to organize (and also because I'm starting to prefer to keep as less things as possible - considering the number of albums I purchase). I put all my digital purchases on a locker service called iBroadcast - really good service.

    If you purchased music on Bandcamp on Friday, mind sharing some of your recent ones?

    I did not know that. I bought some music there several years ago. I will
    have to take a look at what they have and then be sure I buy on Friday. ;)

    I didn't, just heard of this -- but I'm going to listen to your
    purchases (and get back into SOMA.FM for my work day chillout
    music). I've been listening to my own music stream while I work, but
    recently VPN changes at work are messing with my ability to stream
    from my local network - I think they realized they're split
    tunneling, perhaps...

    Good point. I guess I already said that I found out about all this albums while listening to SOMA.FM - I really like this webradio, offering a lot of valid music radio channels!

    Something I do is to use a service called iBroadcast, is an audio locker service (both as free service but it offers also a Premium one starting from 4 USD per month) offering unlimited storage for your music library. I upload all my music purchases there so they don't get lost (or well, at least until the life-of-service).
