do you run the bbs as root?
file permissioms are versatile so whoever owns stuff might not matter depending on the permissions.. e.g

Been playing with my file base and for some reason I can't download any files from it. I am running in Debian Linux, I have the path mounted on bootup and can access the files via file explorer, but for some reason nothing will download. I have the file path in Mystic set to /media/bbs_files/filedirectory/ could this possibly be a permissions issue?? I know I am not giving a lot of info here any other info needed just ask..

Does the download start, but just seem to fail??
I've come across that for two reasons on nix; long filenames, or weird characters... filenames something like:
"This is a filename with!!s & other --+weird charz//.zip"
or, because nix permissions weren't set correctly and Mystic/the user
you run it as didn't actually have permission to the file yer trying to download.
It was permissions. When I changed over to a new NAS set up, I
automounted the shared folder, and I thought it was fine, but in reality it was not as the permissions were set to root. Once I added a uid= and
a gid= to the mount line in fstab it gave up root and now it works
fine.. :) Had 3 months of tic files in my bad folder, thankfully I was able to toss all of them..
