I'm looking to get password reset emails working. I've put in all the corr details for the smtp server, login etc... However, it's still failing.
I'm looking to get password reset emails working. I've put in all the correct details for the smtp server, login etc... However, it's still failing.
I'm running my install under Debian 11.
My BBS is running under Debian 10. Are you running your own mail server as well ? I am hosting my own mailserver on the localhost, and I didn't have any issues getting Mystic to connect and send through my smtp
server. However, most likely making sure cryptlib is loaded by Mystic properly.
If I remember correctly I had to edit the make/config files to get it to compile correctly on debian with AMD-64bit. I will have to dig what I
had to modify on my system for cryptlib to config/make and compile correctly.

I just activated this. What does work? Do you see the prompt which asks for a email password reset after entering the password wrong x times?

I think I answered this, and yes I see it but it times out when trying
to send.
I'm not able to compile cryptlib but I found a copy. SSH is working
using it, so I would imagine SMTP email relay would work with it too?

I went through this recently myself when I switched over to Linux.. I
had to use a work around not an easy one to assemble 3.4.5 and ssh and smtp works fine with it. I downloaded one from one of the BBS' and it worked great for SSH but SMTP did not work it would time out.. I posted what I did in another post here which I copied from a post from the original author from the Mystic Fido Echo. You can try it and see how it works for you.. It worked fine for me.. AL
Mhm I dont know but it seems reasonable to believe that it should. Did
you try to use a seperate program/script to test the SMTP connection?
Ok that rules out a lot of things. Not sure where to start with this one. Hope you work it out soon.Mhm I dont know but it seems reasonable to believe that it should. Got it! I had to use port 587 and create an alias of sysop@clutchbbs.com f to work.
All good now
I'll do a search. Any chance you remember the title of your message?
