It's coming from a couple BBSes that don't have their stuff
locked down. Contact the Sysop if it bothers you.
I'm thinking it may not be a bad idea to add a flag to a user
that signs up via the web interface, and disallow posting by
default for users with that flag in new synchronet installs.

I'll second that motion. Damn fine idea.

For ecwebv4, newuser_restrictions is an optional setting in modopts.ini
[web]. Adding E, M, N, and P by default is possible. The user should be
forced to send a message to the sysop, or the sysop otherwise notified.
FWIW, I don't think I allow newuser reg via the web on my board, and it
is currently disabled by default for new installs of ecwebv4.
I don't see that in the version of modopts.ini in CVS, assuming it's
just newuser_restrictions, and comma-delimited?

These are from the alt.bbs.syncrhonet newsgroup. Unfortunately, when
you gate to usenet, you're going to get this crap come through.

I have zero interest in working on this right now, but maybe in the next couple of days.
Can't fix what's already out there, though. Those who care about this might reach out to the offending sysop(s) and ask them to fix their shit. I'll accept approximately 42% of the blame for this.

The latest posts don't seem to be originating from any given bbs, but from nntp/usenet gateway... it's coming from the general internet and
not much beyond filtering/deleting locally can be done about it.
