After setting a message area in a message board under
SCFG, is there a command line command that can be done,
without having to logon to the BBS to post a message to
activate the area??
I have several autoposts every 3 days, but none are
posting. I've checked to be sure that the SBBSCTRL and
SBBSNODE environment variables are set, that the files
are set for the correct day and time, and that the
jsexec command line is correct, including to the
internal message area identifiers.
Any help would be appreciated.

... All the easy problems have been solved.
What does "activate" mean in this context?
"files are set for the correct day and time" - what are you talking
about?
Rob,
What does "activate" mean in this context?
To where autoposts will go into the area without the Sysop
having to in there manually first to post a message to "get
it started".

The batchfiles at this end, for the jsexec module to post the
messages. I quit using SMBUTIL long ago.
I you're referring to the postmsg module then? http://wiki.synchro.net/module:postmsg
It should be able to create a message base if it doesn't already exist (e.g. not files yet created in data/subs). No "activating" necessary.

Does a message need to be posted in the area before any
other posts (autopost or otherwise) are done in that area??
