• [echoirlp] Why do echolink users get "The repeater is being used locall

    From stevenvk2stg@gmail.com@432:1/101 to echoirlp@groups.io on Sat May 29 23:35:23 2021
Hello again - I'm back with another question... re. the VK2RFS-R node.
It seems that when an Echolink user tries to connect to the repeater node while
the repeater is busy they hear "The Repeater is being used locally" or similar, followed by the connection being dropped. In fact, since writing the last sentence, I've just confirmed it myself. What's more, it then wouldn't let
me connect via echolink, even once the repeater was quiet. It worked after waiting a few minutes though. It seems to us that it would be better if one could simply connect anyway - but maybe it's a EchoiRLP limitation? Or more likely I've just got something set up wrong... I can't seem to find a relevant setting to change though.
Thanks very much for all the help given to me already,
    Steven VK2STG

This is an IRLP setting/message. Change "export REPORTBUSY=YES" in "/home/irlp/custom/environment" to NO. Be aware this allows connecting
nodes to interrupt a QSO in progress on the local repeater.

    That fixed it! Thanks David.
I've also changed the IRLP timeout values - but haven't checked it with Echolink yet. But I'm sure it'll have done the trick there too.
