• Non amateur hobbyists

From Vk3jed@432:1/101 to All on Sun Jul 31 22:46:00 2016
I know we have a couple of non amateurs in here. I'm considering broadening the scope of the net to include other radio hobbyists, such as CB radio and shortwave listening and scanning. I'd also like to include this in the publicity.

At this stage, I don't anticipate adding any new echoes. I'm taking a leaf out of the FSX book of starting with a minimum number of echoes and adding them "organically" as traffic warrants.

What does everyone else think? Should we go down this path? And do you have any other suggestions?

Was that meant to be more than just that line I quoted? ENiGMA has cut off messages in the past..

    No problem with that.

    It is basically the same.
Only traffic in fsx_gen or vk_qso respecitvly-

What does everyone else think? Should we go down this path?
And do you have any other suggestions?

At the moment the traffic volume is muuch lower ... so keeping it in vk_qso seems to be a good idea.

That was my thinking as well, hence my comment about "doing it organically", just as FSX_MYS came out of FSX_GEN.

I have quit a backlo on that echo.
I am glad that FSX_MYS has finally been opened.
It was highly time for it!

I'm taking an approach similar to Paul on fsxnet. Anything radio related is welcome in VK_QSO, amateur, CB, shortwave. If it's radio communications or technology related, ost away. And if a topic looks like dominating, we can discuss the prospect of creating a new echo.
